After three months of treatment:

My grandmother is doing well. She can lift up her entire left hand and arm when we ask her to do so. She can sit up for longer periods without complaining of being uncomfortable (before this she would wake us up in the middle of the night to complain about and was a great source of frustration for us).

She still cannot walk as yet. I believe this would take some time as the physiotherapist has not done much work with strengthening her back as yet. However, she bears more weight on her own when we help her stand up.

After five months of treatment:

She can now move her left hand almost like nothing has happened. When going to the toilet, she is being assisted but in terms of cleaning herself and getting up from the toilet bowl, she can do it herself by leaning from the wall. She can also hold her posture a lot better. She can swallow the four capsules in 1 ounce of liquid; she is on a regular soft food now since she has no more teeth to chew.

The only thing which draws our attention right now is that sometimes she is lucid, knowing her surroundings and the people and sometimes she seems to be confused. For example, she would call me by my sister’s name, or tells me that she needs to go upstairs to sleep, when she is already in bed. Do note that she is staying with me at my house for the past several months and she may be confused that she is still at home with my father (her son); as sometimes she would tell my sister that she is ready to go home.

Of course, this may or may not be due to the stroke, but I’m not sure, since she is 100 yrs old.
